April 22 is Earth Day. On April 22, 1970, the first Earth Day was held. A senator (Gaylord Nelson, 1963) was the man who got the ball rolling and it took until 1970 to get it going. I really don't remember much about Earth Day as a child. Now I feel like it is a good day to talk about things like: Turning out the lights, Keeping the air/heat at a normal level, to not leave the door open, to recycle, to reuse, etc. People all over the world know that there are problems we need to work on and this is our special day to look at the planet and see what needs changing. Anyway if you want to include your family or kids in celebrating Earth Day I found that Kaboose had lots of fun ideas.
